Ripple Labs to Launch $1B XRP Treasury

State of play: Ripple is leading efforts to raise $1B to create a new XRP-focused digital asset treasury, Bloomberg reported. The fund, likely structured through a SPAC, will include Ripple’s XRP holdings and could become the largest treasury of its kind.

The move comes amid cooling enthusiasm for XRP among institutional investors and growing scrutiny of the broader Digital Asset Treasury model, with firms like Strategy and BitMine trading below their crypto book value.

On the same day, Ripple announced its $1B acquisition of GTreasury, a leading treasury management platform based in Chicago.

The deal marks Ripple’s third major purchase this year, following the $1.25B acquisition of prime broker Hidden Road and the $200M purchase of stablecoin platform Rail.
Through the acquisition, Ripple plans to open access to the multi-trillion-dollar global repo market and modernize corporate treasury operations using blockchain-based payments and liquidity tools.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse called the deal a “watershed moment for treasury management.”

Why it matters: Ripple’s $1B XRP treasury and GTreasury deal signal a push beyond payments into full-scale corporate finance.

Our take: Ripple is trying to turn XRP into an enterprise-grade reserve asset.

The big idea: Rica’s big idea is to rebuild global payments around multi-stablecoin liquidity, reducing reliance on USD-centric systems and outdated banking rails.

Meteora Launches MET Allocation Checker Ahead of TGE

Meteora’s MET Allocation Checker went live on October 16, 2025, at 12 PM UTC, the platform allows users to review their full token allocation breakdown and opt in for the Liquidity Distributor NFT, which represents 7% of the total allocation.

It will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
The team emphasized that no registration is required to receive $MET tokens, as allocations will be processed automatically.
However, opting in is necessary for those who want to claim the NFT.

Daylight Raises $75M

Daylight Energy, a DePIN project focused on decentralized energy distribution, secured $75M in new funding led by Framework Ventures. The round includes $15M in equity and $60M in non-recourse project finance capital backed by infrastructure assets.

Equity investors include A16z Crypto, Coinbase Ventures, Lerer Hippeau, M13, Room40 Ventures, EV3, Crucible Capital, and Not Boring Capital, while Turtle Hill Capital led the project finance component.
Founded in 2022, Daylight connects energy devices such as batteries, EVs, and solar inverters through a decentralized protocol that rewards users for participation.
The firm also introduced DayFi, a yield protocol linking DeFi investors directly to electricity revenue from its energy systems.
